Disney 100 LEGO Commemorative Build: Tribute Film Camera
This LEGO build is perfect for Disney fans! The set is a commemorative build to mark the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company. Your finished product will be a cool film movie camera replica made of LEGO bricks!
This is an 811-piece LEGO build to put together a replica movie camera -- the kind that would have been used 100 years ago as the Walt Disney Company was born. The two reels on the top of the old-timey camera are supplemented by a LEGO built number 1 to make the number 100 appear boldly on the finished display piece.
The Walt Disney Company, commonly known as Disney, traces its origins to 1923 when Walt Disney and his brother Roy O. Disney founded the Disney Brothers Studio in Los Angeles. Initially focusing on creating animated shorts, their breakout success came with the creation of Mickey Mouse just a few years later in 1928. This iconic character and others set the stage for Disney's evolution into the multifaceted entertainment giant we all know today.
A fun detail on the camera is that the film box opens to reveal a small room to accommodate a minifigure. This set comes with minifigures of Walt Disney himself (perfect to place inside the camera), classic black and white figures of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, and figures of the classic animated characters Bambi and Dumbo.
The Walt Disney Tribute Camera build includes a small real-movement clapperboard display stand for the minifigures to accompany the camera on display. The included film reel has stills from the Disney short The Old Mill, a classic Silly Symphonies animated short from 1937.
